Tanglewood in Vestavia - Kitchen Remodel Weeks 4 & 5

Cabinets, Counter Tops, and Appliances Installed

Accomplishments:

Much has been completed in the past two weeks.  It was Spring Break over week 3, so I waited to post since the homeowners may not have seen the changes.

The cabinets arrived and were installed.  Suddenly the kitchen seems even larger filled in with cabinets!  It seems to define the walls and the space.  These beautiful shaker style maple cabinets in white make a nice contrast with the espresso finish of the island cabinetry.  Across the room sits a gorgeous mud room style cabinet, in espresso, for the entryway to the kitchen.

What is even more exciting is the appearance of the counter tops on the new cabinets. The owners chose a granite called Colonial Cream which blends so well with the features.

The sleek new appliances are mostly installed and really make a statement! (Even with the plastic film still on.)

Challenges:

The cabinetry in the island had to be custom fitted  at the shop to accommodate the down draft behind the cook top.  Also one of the cabinet doors that you see missing came in a little scuffed, so they are waiting for a replacement.

Other than that, the back splash is being installed and we will show you that in the big reveal next week!
